Rest through the afternoon so the children are warm and fed before the aurora tour, which departs at 19:00 and returns late. Do not add a second timed activity on the same day; one daylight activity and one evening tour is enough for a family with children under ten.

Day three: a spare morning before you fly

Leave the third morning light. A second, shorter visit to the Santa Claus Office, a museum, or simply packing and a last walk through the village all fit, depending on the departure time.

Because Santa Claus Village is close to the airport, about 3 km away, a family flying out later in the day can keep this morning relaxed without cutting the transfer close.

A second Santa Claus Office visit suits a family who wants a quieter meeting without the first-day queue, while a museum suits a family who has already had enough cold air. Either option still ends with a short, predictable transfer to the airport.

Why the daylight and the cold set the order, not the wish list

Around Christmas the sun is up for only about 2.5 to 3 hours, with twilight extending usable light to roughly 15:15. Anything that needs daylight, husky, snowmobile or village photos, has to sit inside that window, and everything else moves around it.

If the three nights include 24, 25 or 26 December, city shop and restaurant hours change and 26 December is also a public holiday, though the Santa Claus Office keeps its 08:00 to 20:00 hours through all three days.
